It would be fair to say that the Annual Resident Christmas Party celebrations mid-December at our Belmont Grange home are just as exciting and as eagerly anticipated as the actual day itself.

Staff dressed up for the Christmas Party
107 residents with their families totalling 230 people, celebrated Christmas with an afternoon tea in the Rose Unit dining and lounge areas. Staff dressed up in festive gear sporting Santa hats, Christmas t-shirts and dress-ups, as well as plastic sumo suits!
The Dining area and tables were beautifully decorated with tinsel, blow up Christmas balls, mirrored placemats, coloured lights and of course a Christmas Tree. Afternoon tea was a delicious assortment of goodies such as fruit mince tarts, rum balls, shortbreads and each table had a Christmas Cake decorated with strawberries and spearmint lollies to share.
Residents and staff were entertained by singer Joe Serra who sang Christmas Carols with many residents singing along. No Christmas Party would be complete without the big guy himself, and Santa made an appearance handing out chocolates and candy canes to the party goers.
Residents were given raffle tickets and 37 prizes were drawn throughout the afternoon. Prize give aways included everything from tea-pots and cups to beauty appliances and food hampers donated by local businesses and families. All donations were gratefully received and residents were absolutely thrilled to receive a prize.
It was a most enjoyable and upbeat afternoon. Feedback received later from our resident Ned really summed up the occasion: ’My first Christmas Party at Belmont Grange without my wife. With no idea of what to expect to my surprise, the rooms were filled with very happy people. Entertainment was great and the food was magnificent”.
A huge thank you to our wonderful dedicated staff for being so invested in the Christmas spirit and festivities and helping to make our Christmas party so pleasurable for our residents and their families. A big shout out to our fabulous residents who attended and participated with just as much enthusiasm.
