Homestyle continues to review its existing homes with the view to maintaining and improving the accommodation we provide as well as acquiring new sites to develop. Currently Homestyle is working on a number of greenfield sites in the Eastern and Northern suburbs as well as considering refurbishment of two further existing homes. As we progress with these projects information will be available.
Melville Grange extension
Homestyle’s Melville Grange is currently in the planning stage of adding a further 60 rooms. Planning is well underway with Casey Council and we have secured Federal Government support for the extension in the form of licences for the additional rooms. In addition to upgrading the current homes kitchen and laundry the existing home will receive an upgrade.
Further rooms will focus on providing care to residents living with dementia and a second story will provide views over the surrounding areas. Corner suites incorporating a sitting room and bedroom are also planned within the upper level of the extension. Expert advice has been received and we currently have the redevelopment taking place over three phases to minimise the impact on our current residents, and to assist in the incorporation of the extension.
