On Sunday May 23rd Homestyle Aged Care was proud to have a small representation of our staff at the Midsumma Pride March. This March takes place in Fitzroy Street St. Kilda each year and thousands of people line the streets and balconies along the route, to cheer and wave showing their support. In a display of pride and solidarity, the LGBTQIA+ community march together and this year there were around 7,400 marchers, proving a strong and positive affirmation for the LGBTIQA Community.
Homestyle staff participated in the March, with around a dozen attendees carrying a large Homestyle branded Pride Banner. The staff wore Homestyle branded t-shirts, caps and back-packs and there was also a Homestyle car, adorned with a Pride Banner, driven in the March. When the crowd saw the Homestyle Banner, the words ‘Aged Care’ resonated and the crowd cheered and clapped .
With ‘feel good’ music playing, a beautiful sunny day and a positive and cheery environment, it was an absolute joy, feeling proud to represent Homestyle Aged Care. Other groups represented included the Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria, as well as many others.
We look forward to attending the next Midsumma Pride March, marching in solidarity for those who cannot.
