Clarendon Grange residents and their families recently enjoyed an inaugural Hot August Night event. Named for Neil Diamond’s famous song of the same name, the singer and his popular music provided the inspiration for a fabulous evening of great fun and frivolity.
The event was advertised around the home and was very well attended by around 60 people including 30 residents, family members and a number of Clarendon Grange staff. The promise of a late night with lots of singing, dancing and revelry proved to be an offer too good to refuse!
Preparations for a Hot August Night started earlier in the day with the women treated to a little pampering beginning with a relaxing green tea facial mask. They then enjoyed having their make-up applied, and got dressed up in their glad rags for a photo shoot in the gardens. Even the men made an effort with their appearance, scrubbing up well for a night on the tiles. After light refreshments were served Neil Diamond himself (or perhaps a convincing look alike!) entertained the crowd with a night of music, singing, jokes, wigs and costume changes.
All of the party goers had a wonderful time talking, laughing and socialising. For the final song of the evening everyone was on their feet singing, hands in the air swaying in time to the music.
